WHAT ARE OUR COURSES?
Our courses are a great opportunity to learn about the animals we know you will love! You will gain a deeper understanding of reptiles; you would also have the opportunity to see a lot of the behind the scenes tasks we do daily: everything from day-to-day maintenance, feeding of the animals, and administration work. If you love reptiles and want a hands on educational and fun experience, courses are the thing for you!
NEW PET COURSE
REPTILE CLUB
Are you thinking about getting a pet reptile? Do you have a reptile and would like to gain an insight on how to care for it? This is the course for you. In this course we will cover how to handle an animal, how to set up the vivarium and what the vivarium requires (regarding heating, lighting and substrate), how to prepare food. You will also learn about how to read the animals general behaviour, and how to notice the signs of distress and what to do in these situations. On this course we will also direct you to good, local reptile vets, if you do not already have one. You will leave this course with: a list of equipment needed, a care guide. On this course you will come to our unit and we have a range of animals, such as: ball python, boa constrictor, corn snake, blue tonged skink, bearded dragon, bosc monitor, leopard gecko, chameleon, and a tortoise.
This course is a fun way for under 13 year olds (accompanied by an adult) to experience our amazing animals. This course will cover the day to day maintenance our animals require and a way to learn a lot of interesting facts. You will have a hands on experience with our animals, in our planned out 4 week course. During each week we focus on a different type of reptile:
Week 1 - Snakes
Week 2 - Lizards
Week 3 - Invertebrates
Week 4 - Fun Day!
But that is not all, you will leave this course with a keyring or a magnet with a photograph to remember your fun time with us. You will also earn a certificate to congratulate you on your hard work and interest for knowledge on our fantastic reptiles.
REPTILE KEEPER SESSION
This course is a 2 hour session and you will gain an insight on the day-to-day care we do for our reptiles. On this course you will learn how to clean the animal's vivarium, how to handle different animals, how to feed our lizards, how to weigh the animals, and how to do general day-to-day tasks. But that is not all, you will also learn how to do administration work like updating animal's records. You will leave this course with either a keyring or a magnet with a photo to remember this experience and a certificate to take home to show off the hard work and facts you have learnt.
